Studio Q is a 6,500 sq ft photo studio in the heart of the creative district in NE Mpls. We have two separate studio spaces that offer a welcoming and creative space for photographers, videographers, creatives, and small events. 

The perfect backdrop for your next creative project, the two studios include a welcoming lounge area, working space, 2 full kitchens, prop area, private bathrooms, and two large shooting areas. With a collection of gear, backgrounds, food and lifestyle props, we have everything you need for big productions or small projects. Confirm whether Studio 1 or Studio 2 is the best fit for your project and join us at the studio by the hour, half-day, or a multi-day shoot.

  • Go to our Booking Page, choose weekday or weekend.

    Choose the amount of time that you would like to book (you can add an additional 1 hour on the second page).

  • We don’t allow walk-ins but you are welcome to book a time to come and visit the studio for a complimentary 15 minute on-site tour or virtual tour.

  • Go to our Booking Page. Select the amount of time you would like and then you’ll be able to see our upcoming availability.

  • We offer various rates base on the length of time, day of the week and any requested add-ons. You can view rates on the Booking Page.

  • Whether you’re an individual with a big idea, a brand looking for a space to knock out your multi-day production, or an agency looking for professional studio space in Minneapolis’ vibrant arts district, we have you covered.

    You can book each day individually or, if you are booking 3 or more days, please send us a request with your desired dates for your multi-day booking, and one of our Studio Managers will respond to you shortly!

  • We are closely monitoring the ongoing situation with Covid-19 and taking necessary precautions set forth by the State of Minnesota and the City of Minneapolis. For the health and safety of our community, please take a minute to read our Covid-19 Protocol.

  • Payment is made at the time of booking through our online booking service using Stripe secure payment gateway. 

    Fees for additional time, or any last minute add-ons that were not billed during the initial booking will be due at the end of the rental period.

  • That depends on when you notify us of the need to cancel or reschedule.

    50 percent refund for cancellations made more than 72-hours before scheduled rental

    No refund for cancellation made less than 72-hours before scheduled rental

    25 percent reschedule fee if notice is less than 72-hours before scheduled rental

    All bookings are non-transferable

  • We only provide the studio space and prop, equipment or lighting add-ons as necessary. You are responsible for hiring a photographer, however we would be happy to provide recommendations for photographers, assistants, grips, gaffers, stylists, hair and make up, etc - email us at Hello@StudioQMpls.com.

  • We love our furry friends!

    Animals are allowed in the studio but MUST be approved beforehand and have written consent by Studio. We also charge a $50 cleaning fee to bring an animal to the studio.

  • Thanks to large 4x8 windows running the entire length of the front (East) and back (West) of Studio #1 and along the front (East) of Studio #2, we have great natural light all day.

    However, weather conditions and the time of year can affect the brightness of lighting. Please keep an eye on the forecast when booking your shoots. If it’s extremely overcast, we recommend bringing or renting lighting, just in case. 

  • We offer both strobe lighting and continuous (video) lighting packages as add-ons to your booking. Review our full gear list here.

  • We love creating video content and have a lot of great set options for production, lifestyle, interview or cooking demo videos shoots.

    Please note that we do not have sound panels and we are located in a shared building on street level. We unfortunately cannot guarantee a quiet space.

    We can control all noise levels coming from inside the studio space (HVAC and appliances) and haven’t had any issues with sound levels but we cannot guarantee other building tenants or outside noises won’t be audible. Please plan accordingly if recording with sound is a priority.

  • We are open by appointment only.

    Bookings can be made Monday - Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday - Sunday 9am to 5pm.

  • Nope, all rentals begin promptly at the rented time.

    Keep that in mind as you are booking. Make sure you book extra time for set up, hair and and makeup or clean up.

    No drop offs or deliveries before or after your booking unless negotiated at time of rental contract.

  • Rental bookings are often booked back to back. If there is availability, you may certainly extend the rental time of your session.

    Notify the on-site studio manager as soon as you know that you will need extra time to avoid getting charged an unscheduled overtime fee.

    Renters are subject to a 1.5x hourly overtime rate for every hour booked after 8:00pm. 

  • Yes, we have very fast wifi and will provide you with the log in information when you arrive.

  • Studio Q is located in North East Minneapolis: 1310 Quincy Street NE Studio #1, Minneapolis 55413.

    Our studio is in an old warehouse on a cobblestone road (drive slowly, there are a lot of potholes!) between Able Brewery and Indeed Brewery. Our neighborhood is very bike friendly, restaurants are within walking distance, and public transportation is nearby.

  • We have 3 parking spaces in front of the studio entrance marked ‘Studio Q’ that you may use during your rental.

    Two parking spaces are available for those renting Studio 1. One parking space is available for those renting Studio 2.

    We recommend that they be used by anyone hauling groceries, props, anyone with limited mobility, or your clients.

    There is plenty of street parking available and two local lots for paid parking less than 1 block from the studio.

    Please DO NOT park in any space marked ‘Quincy Street Studios’ those are reserved for the other building tenants and we cannot be held responsible for any vehicles that are ticketed or towed. 

  • Yes! Our wardrobe rack is stocked with hangers, and a stand steamer that is available for your use.

  • Please return the studio to the condition as it was when you arrived.

    All trash and recycling must be placed in the supplied cans. Dishes need to be washed and returned. Do not leave dishes in the dishwasher.

    Disposal of large amounts of garbage due to large sets may accrue additional costs.

    We will deep clean after your rental but please do your best to clean up.

  • Yes, a Studio Manager will be on-site with you at all times for security and legal reasons.

    If you need anything or have any questions, just ask. They are there to get you settled in, then will let you be and give you privacy during your rental.

  • Basic grip is included in the rental. You can view the included list here.

    We also have a lot of gear for rent, if you need it for your booking.

    Please add any needed equipment to your rental during the booking process to ensure it is available.

  • Yes! We have a wall full of paper backdrops of all colors and sizes.

    The three mounted 107” rolls (white, black and studio grey) in each studio are included in your booking. Do not cut the backdrops and be sure your shoes are clean or wear the supplied booties. Anything we cut off the roll will be a $30/color fee.

    All colored backdrops are available for use with a fee that you can add onto your rental during booking or can be added while on set. See the available colors here

  • Yes, we have some basic lifestyle props available that are placed around the studio that can be used if they are replaced when your shoot is complete.

    We also offer a full collection of props for rent that includes dishware, flatware, glasses, small kitchen appliances and more. If you would like to see the prop collection, please reach out to us at Hello@StudioQMpls.com

  • You are welcome to use the furniture in the studio.

    Please do not allow anyone to stand or jump on any of the furniture. Do not drag furniture as that will damage the floor and the legs of the furniture.

    Please ask the studio manager for assistance if you need to move anything. You must return items to where they belong before leaving the studio.

    If you need to significantly rearrange the furniture in the studio, there is a flat $300 flip fee and 48 hour notice to accommodate.

  • We have a lot of great restaurant options that are in the area.

  • Studio Q (Delicious LLC) is fully insured and monitored by video surveillance for security and risk management.

    The renter accepts full responsibility for the replacement, or repair costs of any damages or loss incurred during their time at Studio Q. This includes but is not limited to equipment repairs, prop repair or replacement, and damage caused to the furniture, walls or building.

    Because of this, we do not require, but strongly recommend that you carry commercial liability insurance.

  • Yes! Our space comfortably holds up to 50 people but is also perfect for smaller, more intimate gatherings. The space is a fully functioning photo studio so please be aware that there will be photo gear and equipment in the space and you are responsible for any damage/loss.
