Big or Small, Props Can Make a HUGE Difference
Adding the right (or wrong) props can make or break the outcome of a photoshoot. The little touches that complete a photo are props — whether or not you even realize they’re props!
Take a look at our 5 Favorite Studio Props below!
1. Our Kitchen
You don’t need to be a personal chef to photograph in our kitchen! It’s the perfect backdrop for food photography or videography but it also doubles as a cozy “home” setting.
Can you picture yourself working on your laptop at our butcher block countertop? Or sautéing on one of our gas burners?
2. Handmade Pottery Bowls
If you’ve ever styled a photo scene, sometimes it seems impossible to find that last little detail to tie it all together!
Handmade pottery bowls are some of our favorite (and most popular) and this little beauty with touches of gold was made by the father of local food blogger @lindsaymostrom of Pinch of Yum (@pinchofyum).
Stunning, right?!
3. Paper Sweeps
One thing that keeps Studio Q renters coming back is our Rainbow Wall! It’s also our favorite thing to brag about…
We have more than 30 paper sweeps ready for any artistic concept you could possibly dream up!
4. Cutting Boards
Just like our favorite pottery bowls, our favorite cutting board keep it all in the family.
Most of our prop cutting boards were made by out Studio Q owner’s father-in-law, Donald.
These beautiful cutting boards are perfect for all types of scenes, and we not just talking about hands-on work in the kitchen. They work perfect for flat-lays too!
5. Simple Seating
So. Much. Versatility!
Sit on them. Lean on them. Add a chair in for scale. This iconic mid-century modern style is our fave and we have several on hand (in white an orange)!
Our list wouldn’t be complete without a ravishing honorable mention nod…
6. Disco Balls
We love adding in a bit of glitz and glam when ever we can and a disco ball is just the right props to do that!
Add it to a scene or use it as a prop for your next portrait session! Either way, get ready to party!
